• Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said, the Central Government is set to implement two major reforms in the interest of farmers. These include a new Seed Act and a revised Pesticide Act.

• Belgium has seized an oil tanker belonging to the Russian shadow fleet in the North Sea. In a social media post, Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken said, Belgian armed forces with support from French defence authorities, boarded the vessel as part of efforts to enforce sanctions.

• Senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi will serve as country’s interim Supreme Leader following the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israeli airstrikes. Iranian state media said, the country has activated Article 111 of its Constitution after Khamenei’s death.

• US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran continued for a second consecutive day following the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Explosions were reported in Tehran, as Israel stated it was expanding its operations into the heart of the Iranian capital.

• In the ICC Men’s T-20 Cricket World Cup, South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by five wickets in their final Super 8 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Chasing a competitive target of 154, South Africa displayed composure under pressure and reached the target in 17.5 overs.
