• The National Biodiversity Authority has extended financial assistance of more than 6 crore rupees to State Biodiversity Boards and Union Territory Biodiversity Councils. • The United States has halted all flights to and from El Paso International Airport in Texas for special security reasons, the Federal Aviation Administration said without providing further details.

• In Madagascar, 20 people have died after Tropical Cyclone Gezani struck Madagascar’s main port city of Toamasina, toppling houses and cutting power across the region. Winds exceeded 195 kilometers per hour, prompting red alerts for floods and landslides as the storm moved inland.

• Nepal’s Ministry of Finance unveiled the half-yearly budget assessment report in the mid-year review of the budget for the current fiscal year 2025-26. The budget is reduced to 1688.32 billion from 1964.11 billion.
