• A special NIA court has sentenced a person to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for being involved in the radicalisation and recruitment of youngsters for Pakistan based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

• Waves Film Bazaar has announced that one of its projects, titled ‘Fishers of Men’, has been shortlisted for the 24th edition of the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum.

• The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has released the 32nd edition of the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment, NeSDA – Way Forward Monthly Report for December 2025.

• Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, held bilateral meetings with Heads of 32 Election Management Bodies.

• National School of Drama (NSD) has announced that the 25th edition of Bharat Rang Mahaotsav (BRM) -International Theatre Festival of India will be held from the 27th of this month in Delhi and other cities of India.

• US President Donald Trump held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

• The nominations for the 98th Academy Awards, or the Oscars, have been announced. Ryan Coogler’s vampire epic Sinners is leading the field after setting a new Oscars record with 16 nominations, breaking the record for the most Oscar nominations, which was previously held by All About Eve (1950).

• US President Donald Trump signed the charter to formally launch the Board of Peace initiative at the World Economic Forum in Davos, describing it as a major step towards global conflict resolution.

• The first tranche of election-related assistance from India was handed over to the Minister for Home Affairs of Nepal, Om Prakash Aryal, by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu. 61 double-cab pickup vehicles and other supplies were handed over by Deputy chief of Mission Dr Rakesh Pandey.

• The Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed to stop the projection of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) as the representative of the official national cricket team of India, terming it frivolous.

• In Badminton, Indian shuttlers P V Sindhu and Lakshya Sen have advanced to the quarterfinals of Indonesia Masters tournament. Lakshya prevailed over Hong Kong China’s Jason Gunawan 21-10 21-11 in Men’s Singles pre-quarterfinals.
