United States has granted India a six-month exemption from sanctions on Iran’s Chabahar port. Briefing media in New Delhi, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, India has been granted exemption for a six month period.

Global crude oil prices dropped as investors assessed outcomes of meeting between the leaders of the US and China. Brent Crude was trading around 0.6 per cent down at 64 US dollars and 51 cents per barrel and WTI Crude was also trading nearly 0.6 per cent down at 60 US dollars and 13 cents.

Taiwan’s National Security Bureau (NSB) has accused Chinese vessels of employing at least eight covert tactics to enter restricted maritime zones near Kinmen County, raising concerns over China’s escalating maritime pressure campaign.

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने गुजरात के केवड़िया में एकता नगर में एक हजार एक सौ करोड़ रुपये से अधिक मूल्य की कई विकास परियोजनाओं का वस्तुतः उद्घाटन और आधारशिला रखी।
• संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने भारत को ईरान के चाबहार बंदरगाह पर प्रतिबंधों से छह महीने की छूट दी है। नई दिल्ली में मीडिया को जानकारी देते हुए विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता रणधीर जायसवाल ने कहा कि भारत को छह महीने की अवधि के लिए छूट दी गई है।
• पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र के विकास मंत्री ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने नई दिल्ली में मणिपुर के विकास रोडमैप पर तीसरी समीक्षा बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। बैठक में चल रही परियोजनाओं की प्रगति का आकलन करने तथा समावेशी विकास के लिए नए अवसरों की पहचान करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया।
• भारत और श्रीलंका ने नई दिल्ली में कृषि पर पहली संयुक्त कार्य समूह बैठक आयोजित की। बैठक की सह-अध्यक्षता कृषि एवं कृषक कल्याण विभाग के सचिव डॉ. देवेश चतुर्वेदी तथा श्रीलंका के कृषि, पशुधन, भूमि एवं सिंचाई मंत्रालय के सचिव ने की।
• भारतीय मौसम विभाग (आईएमडी) ने कहा है कि चक्रवात मोन्था के अगले 24 घंटों के दौरान उत्तरी छत्तीसगढ़ से होते हुए लगभग उत्तर की ओर बढ़ने तथा कमजोर होकर निम्न दबाव वाले क्षेत्र में पहुंचने की संभावना है। इस बीच, आईएमडी ने आज उप हिमालयी पश्चिम बंगाल और सिक्किम के लिए लाल रंग की चेतावनी जारी की है।
• भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने उभरते घरेलू, क्षेत्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद परिदृश्य पर चर्चा की है तथा आतंकवाद-रोधी, कानून प्रवर्तन, न्यायिक सहयोग और समुद्री सुरक्षा में सहयोग के व्यापक क्षेत्रों पर विचारों का आदान-प्रदान किया है।
• केंद्र ने कहा है कि कक्षा 3 से आगे सभी स्कूलों में आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस पर पाठ्यक्रम शुरू किया जाएगा।

• निवेशकों द्वारा अमेरिका और चीन के नेताओं के बीच बैठक के परिणामों का आकलन करने के कारण वैश्विक कच्चे तेल की कीमतों में गिरावट आई। ब्रेंट क्रूड लगभग 0.6 प्रतिशत गिरकर 64 अमेरिकी डॉलर और 51 सेंट प्रति बैरल पर कारोबार कर रहा था और डब्ल्यूटीआई क्रूड भी लगभग 0.6 प्रतिशत गिरकर 60 अमेरिकी डॉलर और 13 सेंट पर कारोबार कर रहा था।
• ताइवान के राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा ब्यूरो (एनएसबी) ने चीनी जहाजों पर किनमेन काउंटी के पास प्रतिबंधित समुद्री क्षेत्रों में प्रवेश करने के लिए कम से कम आठ गुप्त रणनीति अपनाने का आरोप लगाया है, जिससे चीन के बढ़ते समुद्री दबाव अभियान पर चिंता बढ़ गई है।
• अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प ने कहा कि चीन पर टैरिफ मौजूदा 57 प्रतिशत से घटाकर 47 प्रतिशत कर दिया जाएगा।
