National Updates

• The Election Commission has rebutted the claims made by Leader of Oppositon in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi wherein he alleged manipulation in the voter list. In a social media fact Check, Election Commission termed these allegation as misleading.

• Parliament has passed the Coastal Shipping Bill, 2025 with the Rajya Sabha approving it. The Lok Sabha has already passed the Bill. The Bill seeks to regulate vessels engaged in trade within the country’s coastal waters.

• National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Russian Security Council chief Sergei Shoigu in Moscow. Mr Doval said, India has a special and long relationship with Russia and it values this relationship.

• NCERT has added chapters on the lives and sacrifices of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman, and Major Somnath Sharma to the syllabus for the upcoming academic year for Class VIII (Urdu), Class VII (Urdu), and Class VIII (English), respectively.

• NDA has authorised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leader of the house in Rajya Sabha J P Nadda to select the alliance’s Vice President candidate.

• The Department of Food and Public Distribution, has notified an amendment to the Vegetable Oil Products, Production and Availability (Regulation) Order, 2011. The Ministry in a statement said that the amendment seeks to strengthen data collection mechanisms in the edible oil sector.

• चुनाव आयोग ने लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता राहुल गांधी द्वारा किए गए दावों का खंडन किया है जिसमें उन्होंने मतदाता सूची में हेरफेर का आरोप लगाया था। सोशल मीडिया फैक्ट चेक में चुनाव आयोग ने इन आरोपों को भ्रामक बताया।
• संसद ने तटीय नौवहन विधेयक, 2025 को राज्यसभा की मंजूरी से पारित कर दिया है। लोकसभा पहले ही विधेयक पारित कर चुकी है। यह विधेयक देश के तटीय जल में व्यापार में लगे जहाजों को विनियमित करने का प्रयास करता है।
• राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोभाल ने मॉस्को में रूसी सुरक्षा परिषद के प्रमुख सर्गेई शोइगु से मुलाकात की। श्री डोवल ने कहा, भारत का रूस के साथ एक विशेष और लंबा रिश्ता है और वह इस रिश्ते को महत्व देता है।
• एनसीईआरटी ने आगामी शैक्षणिक वर्ष के पाठ्यक्रम में क्रमशः कक्षा VIII (उर्दू), कक्षा VII (उर्दू) और कक्षा VIII (अंग्रेजी) के लिए फील्ड मार्शल सैम मानेकशॉ, ब्रिगेडियर मोहम्मद उस्मान और मेजर सोमनाथ शर्मा के जीवन और बलिदान पर अध्याय जोड़े हैं।
• एनडीए ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी और राज्यसभा में सदन के नेता जेपी नड्डा को गठबंधन के उपराष्ट्रपति पद के उम्मीदवार का चयन करने के लिए अधिकृत किया है।
• खाद्य एवं सार्वजनिक वितरण विभाग ने वनस्पति तेल उत्पाद, उत्पादन एवं उपलब्धता (विनियमन) आदेश, 2011 में संशोधन अधिसूचित किया है। मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि संशोधन का उद्देश्य खाद्य तेल क्षेत्र में डेटा संग्रहण तंत्र को मजबूत करना है।

International updates

• US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to meet in the coming days, a Kremlin aide has said. A possible meeting between Trump and Putin would follow US envoy Steve Witkoff holding talks with the Russian president.

• Japan’s Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued warnings of landslides, flooding, and rising river levels as torrential rains hammer the Hokuriku region. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), a record 148 millimetres of rain was recorded over a three-hour period.

• Cambodia and Thailand signed a ceasefire agreement during an extraordinary General Border Committee meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Both sides discussed measures to restore peace and pledged to create a regional monitoring mechanism.

• Finland-based thinktank Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) has exposed US double standard on the issue of Russian oil imports. The CREA, in its latest report, exposes what New Delhi describes as West’s double standard in singling out India.

• In Myanmar, acting President U Myint Swe passed away at the age of 74 in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar. The National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) said, a state funeral will be held for the acting president. U Myint Swe was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

• In France, a wildfire broke out on Tuesday near the village of Ribaute in the southern Aude region destroying over 16,000 hectares of land, an area larger than Paris.

क्रेमलिन के एक सहयोगी ने कहा है कि • अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प और रूसी राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन आने वाले दिनों में मिलने पर सहमत हुए हैं। ट्रम्प और पुतिन के बीच संभावित बैठक अमेरिकी दूत स्टीव विटकॉफ द्वारा रूसी राष्ट्रपति के साथ बातचीत के बाद होगी।
• जापान की मौसम विज्ञान एजेंसी (जेएमए) ने होकुरिकु क्षेत्र में मूसलाधार बारिश के कारण भूस्खलन, बाढ़ और नदी के बढ़ते स्तर की चेतावनी जारी की है। जापान मौसम विज्ञान एजेंसी (जेएमए) के अनुसार, तीन घंटे की अवधि में रिकॉर्ड १४८ मिलीमीटर बारिश दर्ज की गई।
• कंबोडिया और थाईलैंड ने कुआलालंपुर में एक असाधारण सामान्य सीमा समिति की बैठक के दौरान युद्धविराम समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। दोनों पक्षों ने शांति बहाल करने के उपायों पर चर्चा की तथा एक क्षेत्रीय निगरानी तंत्र बनाने का वचन दिया।
• फिनलैंड स्थित थिंकटैंक सेंटर फॉर रिसर्च ऑन एनर्जी एंड क्लीन एयर (सीआरईए) ने रूसी तेल आयात के मुद्दे पर अमेरिका के दोहरे मापदंड को उजागर किया है। सीआरईए ने अपनी नवीनतम रिपोर्ट में भारत को अलग करने में नई दिल्ली द्वारा पश्चिम के दोहरे मापदंड को उजागर किया है।
• म्यांमार में कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति यू म्यिंट स्वे का 74 वर्ष की आयु में म्यांमार की राजधानी ने पी ताव में निधन हो गया। राष्ट्रीय रक्षा एवं सुरक्षा परिषद (एनडीएससी) ने कहा कि कार्यवाहक राष्ट्रपति का राजकीय अंतिम संस्कार किया जाएगा। यू म्यिंट स्वे को पार्किंसंस रोग का पता चला था।
• फ्रांस में, दक्षिणी औड क्षेत्र के रिबाउते गांव के पास मंगलवार को जंगल में आग लग गई, जिससे 16,000 हेक्टेयर से अधिक भूमि नष्ट हो गई, जो पेरिस से भी बड़ा क्षेत्र है।
