The Election Commission has declared the results of the by-elections held in five assembly constituencies across four states, following the completion of counting of votes. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) bagged two seats, while BJP, Congress, and TMC won a seat each.

The government has decided to extend the cut-off date for exercising the option for Unified Pension Scheme by three months till 30th September of this year. This cut-off date will apply for the eligible central government employees, retirees, and the legally wedded spouses of deceased retirees.

India has categorically rejected references to the country at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and termed them as unwarranted and factually incorrect.

• चुनाव आयोग ने वोटों की गिनती पूरी होने के बाद चार राज्यों के पांच विधानसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में हुए उपचुनावों के नतीजे घोषित कर दिए हैं। आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) को दो सीटें मिलीं, जबकि भाजपा, कांग्रेस और टीएमसी को एक-एक सीट मिली।
• सरकार ने एकीकृत पेंशन योजना के विकल्प का प्रयोग करने की कट-ऑफ तिथि को तीन महीने बढ़ाकर इस वर्ष 30 सितंबर तक करने का निर्णय लिया है। यह कट-ऑफ तिथि पात्र केन्द्रीय सरकारी कर्मचारियों, सेवानिवृत्त कर्मचारियों तथा मृत सेवानिवृत्त कर्मचारियों के कानूनी रूप से विवाहित जीवनसाथियों पर लागू होगी।
• भारत ने इस्लामिक सहयोग संगठन (ओआईसी) के विदेश मंत्रियों की परिषद’ की बैठक में देश के संदर्भों को स्पष्ट रूप से खारिज कर दिया है और उन्हें अनुचित और तथ्यात्मक रूप से गलत बताया है।
• केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य एवं सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री प्रल्हाद जोशी ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की सरकार की कल्याणकारी नीतियों के कारण देश में लगभग 26 करोड़ लोगों को गरीबी से बाहर निकाला गया है।
• रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने नई दिल्ली में विंग्स टू अवर होप्स – वॉल्यूम 2 नामक पुस्तक का विमोचन किया। इस पुस्तक में अगस्त २०२३ से जुलाई २०२४ की अवधि के बीच राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू द्वारा दिए गए भाषण शामिल हैं

As the conflict continues between Iran and Israel, the Israeli military claimed it conducted a new wave of airstrikes on Iran , shortly after intercepting a missile fired from Iran. It said it targeted military infrastructure sites in Iran’s Kermanshah province.

In the US, several people sustained injuries in two separate mass shooting incidents at the states of Pennsylvania and Indiana. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, gunfire erupted late last night, resulting in injuries to about 15 people.

In Syria, at least 22 people were killed and 63 wounded in a suicide bombing at a church, marking the deadliest and first attack of its kind on a Christian place of worship in the capital Damascus in several years.

In another gesture of regional solidarity, India has offered seats on flights from Amman to New Delhi for Sri Lankans wishing to return home from Israel, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel announced.

• चूंकि ईरान और इजरायल के बीच संघर्ष जारी है, इजरायली सेना ने दावा किया है कि उसने ईरान से दागी गई मिसाइल को रोकने के तुरंत बाद ईरान पर हवाई हमलों की एक नई लहर चलाई। उसने कहा कि उसने ईरान के करमानशाह प्रांत में सैन्य बुनियादी ढांचे के स्थलों को निशाना बनाया।
• अमेरिका में पेंसिल्वेनिया और इंडियाना राज्यों में दो अलग-अलग सामूहिक गोलीबारी की घटनाओं में कई लोग घायल हो गए। पेंसिल्वेनिया के पिट्सबर्ग में कल देर रात गोलीबारी हुई, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप लगभग 15 लोग घायल हो गए।
• सीरिया में एक चर्च में आत्मघाती बम विस्फोट में कम से कम 22 लोग मारे गए और 63 घायल हो गए, जो राजधानी दमिश्क में किसी ईसाई पूजा स्थल पर कई वर्षों में अपनी तरह का सबसे घातक और पहला हमला था।
• क्षेत्रीय एकजुटता के एक अन्य संकेत के रूप में, भारत ने इजरायल से घर लौटने के इच्छुक श्रीलंकाई लोगों के लिए अम्मान से नई दिल्ली तक की उड़ानों में सीटों की पेशकश की है, इजरायल स्थित श्रीलंकाई दूतावास ने घोषणा की।
