An interjection is a word or phrase that is grammatically independent of the words around it and mainly expresses feeling rather than meaning. Interjections are common in speech and are much more common in electronic messages than in other types of writing.

 

यह एक ऐसा शब्द है, जो मन में अचानक होने वाले भावनाओं को व्यक्त करता है। इसका प्रयोग करने पर शब्दान्त या वाक्यान्त में (!) चिन्ह का प्रयोग अवश्य किया जाता है।

विस्मयादिबोधक (Interjection)

• बाप – रे- बाप ! इतना बड़ा साँप |
• शाबाश ! तुम मैच जीत गए |
• अच्छा ! तो यह सब तुमने किया है |

 

ऊपर लिखे वाक्यों में बाप – रे- बाप !,शाबाश !,अच्छा ! किसी न किसी भाव को दर्शाता हैं; जैसे –  बाप – रे- बाप विस्मय के भाव को, शाबाश हर्ष के भाव को, अच्छा आश्चर्य के भाव को प्रकट करता है | ऐसे शब्दों को विस्मयादिबोधक शब्द कहते हैं |

जैसे- Joy (प्रसन्नता) – Hurrah !

Surprise (आश्चर्य) – What!

Grief (दुःख) – Alas!

Approval (स्वीकृति) – Bravo!

विस्मयादिबोधक शब्द की परिभाषा :- ऐसे शब्द जो हर्ष, शोक, आश्चर्य, घृणा, स्वीकृति आदि के भाव को प्रकट करे, वे विस्मयादिबोधक शब्द कहलाते हैं |

• शोकबोधक (Interjection for Grief)
• आश्चर्यबोधक (Interjection for Surprise)

• स्वीकृतिबोधक (Interjection for Acceptance)
• अनुमोदनबोधक (Interjection for Approval)
• संबोधनबोधक (Interjection for Address)
• चेतावनीबोधक (Interjection for Warning)
• आशीर्वादबोधक (Interjection for Blessings)
• भयबोधक (Interjection for Fear)

(1) Hurrah! We have won the match.
