25 अप्रैल को इतिहास में घटित महत्वपूर्ण घटनाएँ :

सन 1809 मे ब्रिटिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी और पंजाब के सिख शासक रणजीत सिंह के बीच अमृतसर संधि पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

जापान की राजधानी टोक्यो में सन 1867 मे विदेशी व्यापार की अनुमति दी गई।

आज ही के दिन सन 1905 मे दक्षिण अफ्रीका में अश्वेतों को मताधिकार मिला।

सन 1954 मे बेल लैब्स ने न्यूयार्क में पहली बार सोलर बैटरी बनाने की घोषणा की।

कैम्ब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय के दो वैज्ञानिकों जेम्स डी वॉटसन और फ्रांसिस क्रिक ने सन 1953 मे डीएनए की संरचना की व्याख्या कर जीव विज्ञान की इस बुनियादी पहेली का जवाब खोज लिया। इन दोनो वैज्ञानिकों को उनकी इस खोज के लिए 1962 में नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।

सन 1957 मे सोडियम परमाणु रिएक्टर पहली बार संचालित किया।

आज ही के दिन सन 1975 मे सोवियत संघ ने भूमिगत परमाणु परीक्षण किया।

अमेरिकी सेना ने तेहरान स्थित अपने दूतावास से सन 1980 मे 53 बंधकों को छुड़ाने का गोपनीय अभियान चलाया, लेकिन इसमें सफलता नहीं मिल पाई और आठ अमेरिकी सैनिक मारे गए। ये संकट 444 दिन तक चला और अंतत: जनवरी 1981 में इन बंधकों की रिहाई हो पाई।

सन 1981 मे जापान के सुरूगा में एक परमाणु संयंत्र में मरम्मत कार्य के दौरान 100 से अधिक मजदूर परमाणु विकिरण का शिकार हुए।

सन 1982 मे दिल्ली में टेलिविज़न पर पहली बार रंगीन प्रसारण की शुरुआत हुई।

जर्मनी की पत्रिका ‘स्टर्न’ ने सन 1983 मे हिटलर की उस विवादास्पद डायरी को छापना शुरू किया, जिसे उन्होंने कथित रूप से दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान कलमबद्ध किया था। डायरी की प्रामाणिकता पर कई सवाल उठाए गए।

सन 1989 मे इथियोपिया में आज ही के दिन दिमागी बुखार से 20 हजार से ज्यादा लोगों की मौत। यह बीमारी सूडान तक फैली और वहां भी कम से कम 400 लोगों की मौत हुई।

भारतीय नौसेना ने सन 2010 मे पुराने हो चुके चेतक हेलिकॉप्टरों की जगह लाइट यूटिलिटी हेलीकॉप्टर खरीदने की प्रक्रिया शुरू की।

सन 2013 मे ब्रिटेन ने सोमालिया में अपना दूतावास 27 वर्ष के बाद दोबारा खोला।

नेपाल में सन 2015 मे भीषण भूकंप ने भारी तबाही मचाई। राजधानी काठमांडू के नज़दीक आए इस भूकंप से जान माल का बड़ा नुकसान हुआ।

In 1809, the Treaty of Amritsar was signed between the British East India Company and Ranjit Singh, the Sikh ruler of Punjab.
Foreign trade was allowed in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, in 1867.
On this day in 1905, blacks got the right to vote in South Africa.
In 1954, Bell Labs announced the first solar battery in New York.
James D Watson and Francis Crick, two scientists at the University of Cambridge, discovered the answer to this basic puzzle of biology by explaining the structure of DNA in 1953. Both these scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1962 for their discovery.
In 1957, the sodium nuclear reactor was operated for the first time.
On this day in 1975, the Soviet Union conducted an underground nuclear test.
The US military launched a secret operation to rescue 53 hostages in 1980 from its embassy in Tehran, but this was not successful and eight American soldiers were killed. The crisis lasted 444 days and finally led to the release of these hostages in January 1981.
In 1981, more than 100 workers fell victim to nuclear radiation during repair work at a nuclear plant in Suruga, Japan.
In 1982, color broadcasting started for the first time on television in Delhi.
German magazine ‘stern’ began printing Hitler’s controversial diary in 1983, which he allegedly penned during the Second World War. Many questions were raised on the authenticity of the diary.
More than 20 thousand people died of meningitis on this day in Ethiopia in 1989. The disease spread to Sudan, and at least 400 people died there as well.
The Indian Navy began the process of purchasing light utility helicopters in 2010, replacing the aging Chetak helicopters.
In 2013, Britain reopened its embassy in Somalia after 27 years.
A massive earthquake in Nepal in 2015 caused massive devastation. This earthquake that occurred near the capital Kathmandu caused huge loss of life and property.
