14 अप्रैल को इतिहास में घटित महत्वपूर्ण घटनाएँ :

आज ही के दिन सन 1434 मे फ्रांस के विश्वविख्यात सेंट पीटर कैथेड्रल की आधारशिला रखी गई।

नेपोलियन ने सन 1809 मे बावारिया की लड़ाई में आस्ट्रिया को शिकस्त दी।

सन 1814 मे नेपोलियन को राजगद्दी से हटाया गया।

आज ही के दिन एक सौ तीन साल पहले 1912 मे टाइटैनिक जहाज को इस तरह से तैयार किया गया था कि वो कभी डूबे नहीं लेकिन समुद्र में सफर करते समय एक हिमखंड से टकरा कर यह डूब गया।

बंबई बंदरगाह पर 1944 मे हुए भयंकर विस्फोट में 300 लोग मारे गए और दो करोड़ पाउंड की क्षति हुई।

आज ही के दिन 1891 मे समाज सुधारक भीमराव अंबेडकर का जन्म हुआ, जिनका सविंधान के निर्माण मे अभूतपूर्व योगदान रहा था |.

अंतरिक्ष यान अपोलो 13 में आज ही के दिन सन 1970 मे ह्ए धमाके से तीन अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों की जान पर ख़तरा मंडराने लगा, हांलाकि 17 अप्रैल 1970 को अपोलो 13 सफलतापूर्वक धरती पर वापस लौट आया।

पूर्व सोवियत संघ ने सन 1988 में अमरीका, पाकिस्तान और अफ़गानिस्तान के साथ जीनेवा में एक समझौता किया, जिसके तहत सोवियत संघ को अफ़गानिस्तान से अपने सैनिकों को हटाना था, इसके साथ ही अफ़गानिस्तान में सोवियत संघ के हस्तक्षेप का भी अंत हो गया।

सन 2010 मे चीन के किगगाई में 6.9 तीव्रता का भूकंप आया, जिससे इस आपदा में लगभग 2700 लोग मारे गए।

भारत और अमेरिका ने सन 2005 मे अपने-अपने उड़ान क्षेत्र एक-दूसरे की एयरलाइनों के लिए खोलने का ऐतिहासिक समझौता किया।
